Helvetica was first developed in 1957. By type designers Max Miedinger and Eduard Hoffmann at the haas'sche Schriftgiesserei. Haas set out to design a new sans-serif typeface that could compete with the successful Akzidenz-Grotesk in the swiss market. The aim of the new design was to create a neutral typeface that had great clarity, no intrinsic meaning in its form, and could be used on a wide variety of signage.
Helvetica is one of the most common used typeface today, It can be seen anywhere from signs, advertisements, logo or even in shops.

Sister Corita Kent...
I really like this particle artists work... i like how she expresses emotions through her simple work, using different types and expressive colours to suit the mood that, that particular piece relates to.
I really like the one above because of the bold, bright colours against the plain white background. However the one below is much more sutle but it still has the same impact...
Laz Marquez...
Olly Moss...
Twitter
The piece's of work above and below are by Olly Moss who is an illustrator and designer. I only really like some pieces of his work. I like the one above in particular cause of the bright colours against the black back ground. In a seance you could tell with out looking at the title that its something to do with phones and a social networks, meaning the birds stands for twitter, and one of the birds holding a speech bubble, which indicates commutation.
Below is anothe piece of his work called Tanslation i really like how bold and bright this piece of work is... you can tell straight away that its something to do with differnt languages.

recycling poster... end result
This is the end result for the recycling electrical items project. The main aim of the project was to produce an outcome that will persuade people to recycle their electrical items. I feel like i met the clients brief, because I've used a simple but effective message. I also went with the well known colour for recycle being green friendly colour tones.
